Northern Kentucky University announced a new president on Wednesday who previously spent 14 years as a communications professor there.?
Cady Short-Thompson is NKU’s seventh president and was voted upon unanimously Wednesday by the Board of Regents.?
“I am ecstatic to return home to NKU, where my professional journey began, and to give back to the people and place that invested so fully in me,” Short-Thompson said in a statement. “I love NKU and believe that it is entirely fitting that my first and final positions will be here.”
Short-Thompson is currently the CEO and Executive Director of Breakthrough Cincinnati, which will begin its own search now for her replacement.?
She also worked as Provost and Professor at Hope College and Dean of the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College.?
She will start Oct. 2.?
